Western Sicily has a sunny, Mediterranean
landscape, scattered with archaeological monuments such
as Segesta, Selinunte, Mozia, just to name a
few, and is marked by the labours of man: tunny fish stations such
as Bonagia, San Vito, Scopello and vineyards,
as we find ourselves in the area of Alcamo D.O.C. and
Rapitalà and the saltworks of Trapani.
There are a number of resorts that are ideal for bathing as the
coast is made up of a series of sandy shores and small bays
and coves with crystal clear water, in the gulf of
Castellammare del Golfo, between Capo Gallo and San
Vito lo Capo you can find some of the most famous: San Vito lo
Capo, The nature reserve of the Zingaro, Scopello,
Guidaloca, la Plaia beach and in the surrounding area the
wild beauty of the Egadi Islands of Favignana and
Marettimo.
